I joined this organisation in 2019 as an Enrolled Nurse and now serve as Facility Manager. Originally from South Africa, I’m a qualified international nurse with extensive experience in acute care. After gaining my NZ Nursing registration, I chose to work in aged care, where I feel I’m truly making a difference in people’s lives.

I love getting to know our residents at Karadean Court personally and helping them feel special and loved, which has been incredibly rewarding. In my spare time, I’m passionate about photography and enjoy capturing the beautiful places New Zealand has to offer.

Maria Erasmus

We offer a comfortable home-like environment where residents and staff create a warm, inclusive, friendly community. Thanks to Karadean Court being part of this rural town, locals are very involved with our outings, and we often enjoy the hospitality of  nearby farmers to experience their gardens and properties.

We maintain a very person-centred approach for all our residents. In addition to enjoying a close local bond, we keep connected with families and the broader community by operating a transport service for residents to visit Christchurch.

We encourage you to come and see our stunning views in this beautiful setting for yourself.

Respite Care

For those considering respite care, this is an option at Karadean Court based on availability. Please call our Facility Manager to discuss the options.

Our approach to care

At Alden, we believe that all our elders deserve compassionate, trusted and respectful care, no matter their means or background. Our nurses and caregivers offer personalised care backed by industry-leading qualifications and training.

Premium room charges

Premium room charges apply to rooms with enhanced features, a private ensuite, a more spacious room or a desirable location within the facility. These charges cover the extra comfort provided, and are separate from the basic care and accommodation fees, which are typically covered by the government subsidy or the resident’s funding.
